Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Ilm-e-Deen (“we”) provides a homework portal to madrasas and Islamic classes (“organizations”). This policy explains what we collect and how we protect it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- For organizations: name, location, and a contact person's name, email and phone.
- For users: name, username, role, and optionally a phone number, entered by the organization.
- Homework: photos of notebook pages, notes, marks and teacher feedback.
- Technical data needed to run the service, such as sign-in sessions.
Who can see it
- Homework photos are visible only to the student who submitted them, the teachers of that course, and the organization's admins and moderators.
- Each organization's data is kept separate; other organizations cannot see it.
- Ilm-e-Deen platform staff can see organization details to review applications and support you.
Children
Many students are under 18. Organizations are responsible for obtaining consent from parents or guardians before creating accounts for minors. We do not ask students for email addresses and do not use their data for advertising.
Where data is stored
Data is stored with our hosting providers (Vercel, Neon and Cloudflare), which may store it outside Canada. Connections are encrypted, and homework photos are kept in private storage.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep data while an organization uses Ilm-e-Deen. An organization can ask us to delete its data, or a specific user's data, by contacting us.
